The Soldier Summary by Rupert Brooke

“The Soldier” has been written by Rupert Brooke. He wrote many poems. This is one of them.

It is a patriotic poem. In this poem, he tells about an English Soldier. An English soldier is fighting in a foreign country. Life is uncertain on the battlefield. The soldier says that if he dies in a foreign country, he will be buried there because he was born and brought up in this country.

He got there the road, the flowers, the English air, river and sun rays. He wants a peaceful country where there would not be war between the two countries. According to him, England is just like heaven. At last, he loves his country very much.

यह एक देशभक्ति कविता है। इस कविता में, वे एक अंग्रेजी सैनिक के बारे में बताते है। एक अंग्रेजी सैनिक विदेशी देश में लड़ रहा है। युद्ध के मैदान में जीवन अनिश्चित है। सैनिक कहता है कि यदि वह किसी विदेशी देश में मर जाता है, तो उसे वहीं (इंग्लैंड) दफनाया जाएगा क्योंकि वह इसी देश में पैदा हुआ और पाला-पोसा गया।
